Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding gives your infant the perfect food and the very best start in life. Evidence shows multiple benefits for both you and your infant when you choose to breastfeed.

Our caring staff are committed to helping you succeed at breastfeeding your baby for as long as you wish to continue.

We can help you locate a breast pump, nursing bras and other breastfeeding supplies.

Our breastfeeding peer counselor is ready to listen to you, answer your questions and provide the support you need to succeed at breastfeeding. Think of her as your personal cheerleader. She can provide basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. She has breastfed at least one baby of her own and has taken a minimum of 16-hours of breastfeeding competency training.

Our Certified Lactation Consultant, Jodie Boff, can answer advanced breastfeeding questions or issues, or refer you to the LaLeche League and Lactation Clinic at Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

You can also find answers from other breastfeeding mothers. We host a Breastfeeding Support Group the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The group meets at 1:30 pm at our office on the ground floor of the Phelps County Courthouse. All breastfeeding moms and pregnant ladies are invited to attend this time of fun, food, and support. Bring your stories, your struggles, your suggestions, and your laughter.

We offer support for busy moms who wish to breastfeed while working or running errands. Contact our office to learn more.
