When you drop your baby off at a child care facility, you want to know he is going to be safe. Our Environmental Public Health Specialist (EPHS) conducts annual sanitation inspections of regulated child care facilities located in Phelps and Maries County.
These facilities are licensed or regulated by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services' Bureau of Child Care and include centers, group homes, family child care homes, Head Starts and license-exempt facilities (such as a nursery school or a facility run by a religious organization).
Inspections are conducted under a contract with the Bureau of Child Care, according to their policies and standards. Our EPHS attends annual training and re-certification required by the Bureau of Child Care.
If you have questions regarding child care rules or how to become a licensed provider, send us an email or call (573) 458-6010. You can also view Missouri laws, regulations and manuals pertaining to child care facilities.
