Immunizations
All childhood vaccines including DTP, MMR, Hib, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Polio, Varicella (chickenpox) and Prevnar (pneumonia) are available. The vaccines are free; however, there is a ten-dollar ($10) fee assessed per child, per visit to cover administrative costs. The fee is the same regardless of the number of vaccinations a child receives during a visit. Medicaid can be billed for immunizations given to children enrolled in that program. The health department does not bill insurance providers. In addition to childhood vaccines, certain vaccinations are available for adults including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and tetanus boosters. Adults are charged a fee to cover the price of the vaccine and administrative costs. Special clinics for influenza (flu) vaccine are conducted annually, with priority given to the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. For vaccine costs or other information regarding the immunization program, call (573) 458-6010. Resources:
